“Midnight knitter” pulls wool over town Someone is spinning quite a yarn over one New Jersey shore town.

An unknown person dubbed The Midnight Knitter by West Cape May residents is covering tree branches and lamp poles with little sweaters under cover of darkness.

Mayor Pam Kaithern says police are looking into the guerrilla needlework, which technically is against the law because it is being done on public property without permission.

The mayor and many residents admit they're enthralled by the rainbow of colors that has popped up.

Resident Susan Longacre takes a walk each morning in Wilbraham Park, where several tree branches and light poles have gotten the treatment. She thinks it's great.

Even those who aren't thrilled admit the yarn is better than spray-painted graffiti.

I think that is really weird. If it is some teenager just goofing off I think there should be a stop put to it. If it is an older women or man doing this then I think they should be allowed because it looks nice and it proably mkes them happy.

I think that it is ok that that person is nitting all the trees because i think it looks cool. You don't see things like that every day so those people shuold like it.It is good for the trees too.It warms the trees after a while wich helps the tree grow.

That person needs to really get a life! Who sits there and uses that much yarn and wool and stuff and just puts it all on someone else's property? Trespassers...

that person really needs to get a life my parents would get so angry if somebody came in our yard in the middle of the night and put knitting on our trees she needs to do something useful like maybe make sweaters for poor people or something instead of wasting it on trees So if she comes to your house donate the sweaterb or knitting to a good causse so it doesn't just sit on your tree for no reason I mean if I were that person I'd feel really bad about not donating it to a good cause it's worth the effort to help people that need it trees don't need to get any warmer they're just trees and they can't feel but we can and there are so mabny charities that you could easily look up on the internet that would be willing to even come and pick up the donations because it would mean that much to them if you would dfonate it so as i was saying please if you catch this person talk some sense into him or her and tell them to donate the knitting to a good cause some kids out there don't even have a set of clothes to change into and it would mean the world to them if they had the comfort that we have and I feel really strongly about this it would mean so much to them and if that midnight knitter is reading this right now I'm sure she'll understand that what I';m saying is true and that what she's done is a waste of time and effort for something stupid that won't make up to anything and if your reading this please please stop and donate it to charity it would mena a lot to me if you did because the worlg needs your donations and needs your support

This story is really funny! I don't know why someone would waste their time doing that. But it IS better than spray paint. I personally wouldn't mind seeing it, and if I were a resident of that town I wouldn't be upset... I would find it entertaining.

That is really cool that the person could knit that much wool. I love how colorful the wool is. It may be against the law but it's really cool how they did that.
