$5,000 phone number: Jenny's phone number is for sale, but not for a song. Bids for a New Jersey version of the number, stuck in the minds of millions since Tommy Tutone's "867-5309/Jenny" hit the Top 10 in 1982, had reached $5,100 on eBay as of Monday morning. The song is about a guy who finds Jenny's name and number scribbled on a bathroom wall.

That's crazy! $5000 for a phone number? I would never pay that much for a phone number. Whoever came up with the idea of selling it on Ebay was a genius. Ebay has a ton of users, and someone was bound to see it and want it. I love the Tommy Tutone song, and I have it on my IPod.

haha! Smart thinking! If i had a number that everyone wanted i'd totally try to get money for it! I would never spent thousands of dollars for a phone number though.

Wow ! That is a very good jingle, but if i had that number i would put it on Ebay too. I'd keep bidding on it myslef because it would get other bidders to go higher. How lucky are you to get that number! On the other hand, I would hate to have that number because everybody would want to call me. But I have to say, that would be an easy number to remember. 8675309 HAHA!

I love that song. I don't know if I love it enough to by the phone number for $5,000 dollars though!
I think that whomever buys that song either really loves Tommy-Tutones song or is a little crazy in the head. I think it would be cool having one of the most recognizable phone numbers in history as your own personal phone number. I Like the song and the numbers iare catchy, but not $5,000 dollars catchy!

OMG! This is so cool :) I didn't know that there was an actual phone number. $5,100--that's alot of money for a phone number. It is a pretty memorable phone number though. I don't think many people would forgot that number. I love that song too. To have a phone number like that would be amazing and a honor.
