Apple's iPad rules while Microsoft drools Apple will sell its newly unveiled tablet-style iPad starting at $499.

The iPad resembles an iPhone, but larger. Apple will sell some iPad models with data plans from AT&T, with no contract required.

Apple Inc. will have to convince consumers, many of whom already have Internet-connected phones, computers and TVs, that they'll want to pay that much for such a device, when many small, lightweight "netbooks" cost less than $400.

CEO Steve Jobs says the iPad will be better for reading books, playing games and watching video than either a laptop or a smart phone. The initial price is likely to drop. Apple sold the first iPhone for $599 but slashed the price to $399 after a few months, upsetting early buyers.

Five hundred dollars for an I pad, not bad especially since it was over seven hundred dollars when the I pad two first came out. But I know how people feel when you buy something on the first day it comes out and then a few days later you see the same thing and the price went down ten dollars, it really up sets you.

Apple company has dropped to $99.99 that is too cheap.$99.99 is too cheap for apple iphone and apple ipad.So that it my comment for apple.

What does that have to do with the price of tea in China?!! In other words, what on earth does that have to do with the article! It never said about the iphone being $99 or the ipad being $99!

iPads are so cool. I played with one, and it was AWESOME! They're really expensive. I can't afford one, but my cousin has one so oh well. Steve Jobs is a very smart person. I'm so happy he made the iPad. :) He's a very talented person and it is sad that he has passed away, but I will always remember him. Thank you, Steve Jobs, for making the iPads , iPhones, and iTouch!

i pads are awesome i can`t afford one yet but my aunt and uncle have one. once i first saw it i was like `wooooooooooow` then i asked if i could play it and they said yes. it was fun i want one.

I totally LOVE the iPad!!! I wanted something nice and big and that's just what I got! the iPad is perfect for playing games, reading books, downloading movies and tv shows, listening to music,etc. The iPad may be expensive, but it is worth the price!!

Oh my Lord!! That is quiet expensive for a iPad!! And all it does is play games and read books and lame stuff like that! Geeeez! Why did they have to be that expensive!? If I were to sell them I would make them around $250 not $499!

Teehee. I'm on an iPad now. They're fun to play with. Especially if you have wifi. But I totally wouldnt pay like $500 dollars for one. Mainly because I'm super cheap :)
