Mrs. Perno is now hosting the SMS Book Club. Communication and book chat is held on Edmodo, an educational network used by many teachers here in the Middle School. The recent book read by the club is When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead. "The book follows the adventures of a twelve-year-old girl who “encounters shifting friendships, a sudden punch, a strange homeless man and mysterious notes that hint at knowledge of the future.” The New York Times Book Review said the book was, "Smart and mesmerizing."
