Calendar cuts winter by skipping day in January North Dakota residents who rely on a new calendar issued by the city of Grand Forks will get a jump-start on February.

The recently issued City of Grand Forks 2010 Calendar is missing Sunday, Jan. 31.

City spokesman John Bernstrom says if Jan. 31 had been a weekday in which there was garbage or recycling collection, the city would have issued a correction or public statement.

Kevin Kuntz, whose company printed the calendar, says January is the coldest month of the year and having one day less works for him.

I agree. That does seem pretty lazy. If it's their job to accurately tell us the days, then they should. It would be interesting to see what people who knew there was a January 31 would react.

Why are they skippiing Jan. 31? Would they not get mixed up when going to other states? This article just plain puzzles me. Seems kinda pointless to me. Just keep it the way it is.

Yeah what happens to the people whose birthday is on January 31st? Would they celebrate their birthday the day before or the day after? Or would they just change their birthdate? So confusing.

Wow. People get payed to make calenders, and they screw it up. How hard can it be? Also, it would mess up the sun cycle and stuff like that.. I do understand how they don't care, because I hate winter. I'm ready for summer!

I dont think we should skip a day in January because it wont make a difference at all. To be honest I think it would be pointless and stupid. These no reason to skip a day.

ha! You all do realize they're saying this is a mistake right? Obviously not, because a lot of you are freaking out. People make mistakes its called a typo. Geez don't get your panties in a bunch. It was just a waste of money and the only one it hurts is the company. THEY DID NOT CHANGE THE CALENDER ON PURPOSE I thought that was pretty funny. We are not removing January 31 from the calender. They messed up.
