Portraits
Ellis Island, 1905: Lewis Hine spent the majority of his life photographing America’s social issues: immigration, child labor, and the plight of the working man. His photographs of immigrants at Ellis Island treated the new, often degraded, citizens with grace, photographing his subjects in more formal poses instead of the “huddled masses” that appeared in other works.

That is so cool. I love learning about our history and i would love to anytime take pictures of Ellis Island. My grandmother had to go through Ellis Island to get here. She always tells us about how hard it was to get here and she talks about what kind of struggles she had. That would be really cool to see ellis island. I want to learn more about that stuff in Social Studies, History, Etc:
I think photographs Lewis Hine took are amazing! But the sad part is, that they are real. The conditions that most of the people in his pictures are just horrible. I like Lewis Hine though, for using his works of art, (his photographs) to make a strong statement.

This is a nice photo, and from the description I get the impression that Mr. Hine is a good man. I definitely approve of his picture.
If you could think of being there and taking thoses amazing photographs! Just think being there being there to see a part of history! taking photographs that will always there to remind you about that time! Seeing what that was really like, that woud be chance that I would like to do!
I think it's good that Lewis Hine is taking pictures of immigrants and child labor is good. I also think taking pictures in different poses is cool. I also think that doing formal poses instead of huddled masses is cool too.
