Exotic Animals as Pets???

Yes, It would be cool to own a Zebra. But many people buy or capture exotic animals and they are being taken away from their natural habitat.

Angus Says “He would love having a exotic animal as a pet.” And that isn’t very odd because people sell Animals over the internet. There is a Camel in Wyoming being sold for 3000$ and Tigers on the internet get as low as 300$, isn’t that crazy.

One other bad thing about exotic “PETS” is that the carry bad diseases such as Herpes B, Monkey Pox and Salmonelles. I asked Angus if he still would want one and he said “I don’t care.”

Truman says “ It depends what animal it is for it to be bad,” and I agree with him. Some animals are becoming rare like tigers and camels and Zebras. And they can be very dangerous. But things like Sugar Gliders are basicly harmless and there is a ton of their speices so it dosnt matter.

The law now bans the sale or transport of big cats, which includes lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars, cougars, snow leopards, clouded leopards, cheetahs.

So if you buy and exotic animal do some research. Because they might be sick, dangerous or illegal.

This is not right people just want exotic "pets" to show off. Having them as pets is just irresponsible! They should be kept in a zoo or in the wild!

This is an outrage! I can't believe people are stealing exotic animals just for pets! That is crazy I think it would be cool but sheesh leave the animals alone! You'll get sick! Who would want a tiger for a pet? It would just eat you!

This is a very good article, it explains how exotic animals are really being treated. I have a macaw but she is well treated and not abused in any way. how are people trying to help the exotic animals.

I would love a zebra, but isn't it illegal to buy exotic animals now anyway???? Plus, if you get them off line you don't know how they look of their health conditions, because the picture could be a different zebra or taken a year ago ( or even longer ) I don't think it's safe to buy exotic "pets"..... and anyway they would be captive, they wouldn't have any room to run or play, or they wouldn't learn survival skills they would need if they ever get taken back to the wild ( kind of unlikely), it's the same thing with zoos- the animals are holed up in a tiny space and are probably scared of the people on the other side of the glass... I just couldn't do that to a zebra - i love them too much :)

I didn't say i didn't care i said i would because there is a very small chance that monkeys have herpes b and monkey pox i think you should of explained more with that part.

That is true anon5555 but the people who buy them might give them to their kid for a birthday present or a gift for doing good in school, but it is still sad because they might take a baby animal away from their mothers ( although I feel bad for the person who would do that).
