20th century

Marilyn: Andy Warhol's worship of Hollywood film goddesses began in his youth in Pittsburgh, where he pored over movie magazines and made copies of glossy fashion ads featuring starlets like Hedy Lamarr. In New York, his preoccupation with movie queens manifested itself most famously in his iconic portraits of Marilyn Monroe, which he began only weeks after her tragic death in August 1962.

Pop art is very cool and I love the colors that Andy Warhol's choose to color Marlyn Monroe. I think it is so sad when she died. :*(

Pop Art is very nice. Art is very cool and people love art.Its so nice that people like art because people who like art show that they could draw and paint and people should appreciate art...........................

I think he did a great job on this picture!! I love Marilyn Monroe! She is very pretty in real life and even more in this picture!! All of these artists have a lot of talent to do these beautiful paintings!!

In this picture Andy Warhol has made a pop art version of a Marilyn Monroe picture. Andy Warhol's Marilyn Monroe pictures are my favorite. In my room I have a few Warhol pop art pictures of which I adore! What i find so interesting about these portraits is that he constructed them a few weeks after Miss Monroe's death! So she never posed actually for Andy Warhol! He is just one interesting guy!

I think this picture has potential and is so inspiring. I think Maryilyn Monroe was very good at her job, and it looked like she was having fun. Maybe someday I'll have her job. Then it'll be my turn!

I love the art and I love the story too. It is amazing how they can draw like that!
