New king of rib eating Top-ranked competitive eater and three-time defending champion Joey Chestnut has been dethroned as the winner of the Best in the West Nugget World Rib Eating Championship in Sparks. Pat "Deep Dish" Bertoletti of Chicago beat Chestnut on Wednesday by one-tenth of a pound. Bertoletti downed 5.8 pounds in 12 minutes.

Wednesday's contest was the fourth annual and featured 12 competitors.

Chestnut, of San Jose, Calif., is ranked No. 1 in the International Federation of Competitive Eating. Bertoletti is rated second. Bertoletti says he prepared for the contest by not eating since a large meal on Tuesday. He won $2,500 and his name will adorn a trophy featuring three golden pigs.

Oh my gosh! I cant even stand seeing ribs i cant be live he ate that much if i would ever eat that much i would feel so sick.

Whoa that is a quick rib eating man! I think I can't even beat him at eating ribs and I love ribs! I wonder how long it will take him to eat 100 ribs?

Wow! I can't believe he ate so much ribs. I can only eat a slice and feel like I had enough,but this guy can eat a large amount. If I was in the contest where it is not a rib eating contest,(like desert)then maybe I can win the contest. Well, I know it is not as easy as what I think. It was awesome for him to win the contest.

Oh my gosh!!!!!!!! Now that's a lot of meat! If I ate that much I would puke for days. I don't understand how that is possible. Wonder if he threw up at the end? I can barely eat half a rack!!

Oh my gosh!! This guy rocks!!!! He has done something I never thought possible. He will change the why i eat ribs. HE ROCKS!!!! I could probliy could do that in a day but not that fast. If I met this guy i would ask him for rib eating tips on how to eat them fast.
