New York Pavements, 1924 or 1925: Isolation, separateness, silence-such words are often used to describe the elusive mood evoked by Edward Hopper's works. Widely recognized today as "the major realist painter of mid-twentieth-century America" (Gail Levin), Hopper has long been famous for his hauntingly empty New York cityscapes and rural New England views, and his bleak interior scenes inhabited by solitary, introspective figures.

Since I collect this amazing assembly of art pieces, and the economy has hit hard I have to get rid of a painting. First, I do not like this painting as much as the other spectacular art pieces. Second, this is the most popular art piece hence it would go for the most money. Lastly, I have received many generous offers already for this piece of art that would float my boat. That is why I would sell this painting.

I drew this picture because my childhood was so fantastic in that apartment. I have so many memories of looking out the window on the street below and the momorable moments i spent up there. I recall the great bursts of wind that I could feel hit my face as i looked down on the big new york city street below me. what a woderful feeling i just knew i would need to draw this, and i am very proud.

I think that this piece of art would also be a good piece of art to show to the fourth graders. This expresses a sad and lonely feeling. I like the fact that this painting is three dimensional aspect of the painting. The painting looks very realistic. The people in this painting look sad. From looking at this painting you might think that something bad happened. Personally I believe this would be good for the fourth graders to see at the museum.

For some reason I really enjoy this picture. A couple things I noticed wen I first looked at it. The first is The nuns. When people think New York they don't automatically think nuns so maybe the artist its trying to fight a preconceived notion about New York. The second thing I noticed is the hurry in this picture. New York minute? Also in this picture you can tell that it wasn't anytime recently just from the sidewalk blocks and apartments. I always like looking at old art.

This picture is pretty interesting, even the nuns. I wonder what all the rush is about. The colors are interesting, too. Is it in the middle of the night?

The picture has a very good color and i wonder if there are good jobs or not. It has a good background, and they just put in a pavement road. I think that the picture should be put in in an art show - and that is all.
