OMG! Kids send 2,000 txts per month
R u kidding me? Americans punched out more than 110 billion text messages last year, double the number in the previous year and growing, as the shorthand communication becomes a popular alternative to cell phone calls.
"If teens are a leader for America, then we are moving to a text-based communication system. For them, there is less interest in talking," said Amanda Lenhart, senior research specialist at the Pew Internet and American Life Project.
Her research found the average teen currently sends more than 2,000 text messages per month. About two-thirds of all teens use text messaging, mostly due to its simplicity as well as the privacy of being able to communicate without being overheard.
Lenhart predicted that texting would continue to grow as parents begin using it as an easy way to reach their kids.

2000 text messages is bad. I never even texted that much in my life. They're phone bill must be outrageous. That is bad. I would probably text 2000 messages in a year!
ya that is a lot of textin but i do at least a 1000 texts a WEEK and you might think im crazy but unless somebody texts me first i usually dont text
If people are to addicted to texting they might forget that in school that they can't abbreviate. For example, if someone had to write an essay and they put 'u' instead of 'you', it would lower their grade. Texting every once in a while isOK, but 2,000 texts is not.
THAT IS SO CRAZY!!! I THINK THAT 2000 TEXTS PER MONTH IS CRAZY!!! I think people should stop texting that much because they are going to like mess up their thumbs!!! Watch, when people who text a lot are going to grow up and there thumbs are gonna be bent forward like they are texting! If you send like 2000 texts a month then you are OUT OF YOUR MIND!!! Do the people that text that much actually talk to people? Or do they just text? THE PEOPLE THAT TEXT THAT MUCH ARE ONE WORD.

I send about 2000 text messages a month and I don't even think that is alot! I mean like maybe 5,000 thousand a month is alot but not 2000 ! My brother send about 3 to 4 thousand text messages in like 3 weeks !
wow,i don't even have a phone!!!!!!! thats alot of text messages! last month my friend told me she sent out about 1000 text messages,but compared to the amount america sends out a year its nothing! i wonder how many texts i will send out when i get phone???????????/
