Shocking World News!
The Olympic Game’s
In our school we have competitions called the Olympic winter games. Our Directors are Mrs. Dunn and Mr. Steeber. At the ceremony of awards first place for each event gets a gold ribbon, and second places get silver and third places gets bronze. People who participate have to be in the grades 7-8. Some of the events were the snowball throw for boys in one section and the girls are put in an other section.
Here are some quotes from the boggle tournament winner Christian. The Question was how do you feel about your win? This is his response “I feel like a champion, they were no competition for my boggle abilities.” The next question was what are you best at? His response “Well, I guess playing the guitar is what I am best at.” Christian won the boggle tournament with a pretty big score of 27 points.
I interviewed one of the advisory Olympic directors Mrs. Dunn. She said, “I enjoy intramurals and I think the turn out isn’t as good as last year though. I like the variety of competitions because there seems to be a challenge for everyone not just athletes.” I also talked to Laura from my advisory, who said, “There easy, because I am very good at athletics.”
Andrew came in first for the boy’s snowball throwing competition with a huge throw of 42.1 meters. Megan came in first for the girl’s snowball throwing competition, she through the snowball 18.6 meters. We had a doubles tubing event that my friend and me got 2nd in.
Some of the events that were created were the flag design, 50m dash for boys then girls, 100m for boys then girls, 200m dash for boys then girls, ski race, tubing singles, tubing doubles, scrabble, lightning for boys the girls, Beauty makeover boys do girls then girls do boys, silent ball, sledding- distance, sledding- speed, snow dance, finger football for boys then girls, snow ball throw for boys then girls, and then boggle. These events were made for different skills of different students!
At the end of our Olympics we had a closing ceremony where the top 3 teams were announced. First place was my advisory Dodge with 81 points, which Is 15 higher than second place. Second place was Nelson’s advisory with only 66 points. Third place was Steeber’s advisory with only 63 points. We will most likely do the winter Olympics again next year when everyone will be older, wiser, and stronger. Farewell, good-bye, until I report again!

you should of gave more detail on the When. You could of also put where we do some of our olympic games like in Mrs. Dunns room, the gym, or outside. I like all the different quotes that you hade. otherwise great article.
The events took place about the beginning of December and ended in March, about the 10Th.
You get points by showing up for the events and and participating. You get medals for 1st, 2ND, and 3rd. 1st= 5 points, 2ND= 4 points, and 3rd= 3 points.
Fun article Dan - I love Christian's quotes! I don't see much information on when - when did the events take place, when did the Olympics end?
Yeah, we won the winter games! It was soooo fun, I liked it a lot. But not everyone played and I'm sad for the teams that did not get many points. Did you get all of the different events? Well can't contain myself 'till next year!!
You explained how others felt about the Winter Olympics in our school and had very good quotes to back that up. But you never explained how you get points to win first or second place. -Alex
