Woman's life better after breaking long nails
A Salt Lake City woman who held a Guinness World Record for her long fingernails before they broke off in a car crash says it was the most dramatic event of her life. But Lee Redmond, who lost the fingernails in February, says it's now much easier to do things and her hands seem to fly with the weight of the nails gone.
The 68-year-old won't grow her nails out again, saying it took 30 years the first time and she may not live for another 30.
Redmond hadn't cut her nails since 1979 and entered the Guinness World Records book in 2002 for longest fingernails on a woman. The Guinness Web site says her nails measured a total of more than 28 feet long in 2008, with the longest nail on her right thumb at 2 feet, 11 inches.
I think that it is crazy to even attempt to growing your nails as long as 28 feet or more. I think that is disgusting and shows that they have nothing better to do with your life. I hate it when my sisters nails are 7 inches long! I wonder how she is able to do her hair,get dressed , and other things like that with such long nails. I wold be deliriously happy if my nails got broken down a couple feet rather than having that as a dramatic even in my life.It is stupid to think like that in my opinion.
This is crazy. I think to get a world record would be cool but i mean really this is crazy! I do think that it is amazing that they got that big! Good Job!
Man that's weird. I couldn't have gown that long with large fingernails! That is seriously kinda nasty!! I wonder how she got the dirt out!
I had no idea nails could grow 28 feet long in total. I can imagine her nails getting in her way. How would she wash her hair? How would she live her life with such long nails? I'm glad that her nails are cut now. That is amazing to me because the longest I have ever seen is only about 1 inch long!
That's nasty. I would not won't my finger nails to be that long. How does she do stuff with her hands, her finger nails are like. She probably did it because she didn't have any thing Else to do with her life.
Having long fingernails would be a bad idea. You wouldn't even be able to do anything. You would miss out on a lot of your life.
