Ten-cent comic book sells for $1 million!
A rare copy of the first comic book featuring Superman sold Monday for $1 million, smashing the previous record price for a comic book.
The issue features Superman lifting a car on its cover and originally cost 10 cents.
"It's considered by most people as the most important book," said John Dolmayan, a comic book enthusiast and dealer best known as the drummer for the rock band System of a Down. "It kind of ushered in the age of the superheroes."
"The fact that this book is completely unrestored and still has an 8.0 grade, it's kind of like a diamond or a precious stone. It's very rare," he said.
There are only about 100 copies of Action Comics No. 1 believed to be in existence, and only a handful have been rated so highly. It's rarer still for those copies to be made available for sale.
"It is still a little stunning to see 'a comic book' and '$1 million' in the same sentence," said Stephen Fishler who helped with the sale. "There's only one time a collectible hits the $1 million threshold."

I did not know that a comic book could be worth 1 million dollars! That must so cool to have an limited edition comic book and soon realize that is worth 1 million dollars. I wish that I knew about it sooner. The best part about that comic book is that it is superman. Superman is my favorite super hereo.
I love Superman. He and Batman are up there at the top on my list. The fact that it wasn't restored is cool and I am surprised it's that much.
I would never buy a comic for so much money. I think only a few people would pay for that comic. That comic probably was many pages long.
The drummer for the rock band System of a Down is selling a superman comic book? We better not let Serj Tankian hear about this. He loves Superman!
thats alot of money for a comic. do you know what i would do with $1 million? i would buy a whole bunch of clothes and games. then id take my friends to an all you can eat buffet. but i would not buy a comic for $1million dollars. no way if it was ten cent
What a waist!!! I'd buy a book more than I want a comic. Someone could buy three houses with that money!!! I understand it's one of the rarest comics ever, but it's still the same comic.
WOW that a lot of money how many page that book OH i see superman that super hero its so nice because superman is popular superhero i like super man. Superman is true like hes a live?
Wow that is alot of money for a ten cent comic book. I wish i had that comic book that would so awesome I would be rich. Many things form the older days are worth lots and lots of money. In my
opinion every butty should have those kinds of comic books because everyone will be wealthy
I am impressed how a 10 cents comic book can be sold for 1 million dollars when they sell it. I wonder how. I would probably sell it a little less then $1 million dollars, that is just my guess. If I something for a $million dollars I would save it to go on a cruise with my friends and my dad.
Who knew a comic book could be sold for 1 million dollars some day. I wouldn't spend a million dollars just for a collectible. There have only been 100 made which is pretty cool. I would like to read one of these old comic books. I'm not sure i would call it an important book though.
